Galvanized Pipes

Galvanization is a process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron, to prevent rusting. It entails plain ended black pipes being dipped in tanks containing sodium metasilicate (to degrease) and hydrochloric (to remove mill scale) solution after which they are rinsed in clean running water.
